Hackers and cybercriminals can also use such details to keep someone’s money away from his/her account or to access personal confidential details for criminal purposes.  That’s why, students should keep their privacy settings on as they can do the same with mobile and web browsers. All social media websites and networks also have privacy-enhancing settings that user can set as per personal requirements and needs. Do, make sure that your kids have enabled these privacy settings changed to keep data and information shared on the internet safe from marketers, hackers and criminals.

Something uploaded (either right or wrong) over the web remains there for a long run and also hard to delete. But, criminals can use such information to make you a victim of their criminal activities.

3- Get Parents Involved

Educating parents regarding harms of unsuitable usage of the internet can be the best option to ensure their kids will remain safe online either at home or at school. Also tell them the effective ways to use the internet for good reasons as well as to prevent cyber security threats and issues.

4- Safe Browsing

Everyone wouldn’t choose to walk through an unsafe neighborhood. So, don’t try to visit dangerous neighborhoods online as cybercriminals and hackers usually use clickbait contents to grab the attention of internet users. That is the reason, never ever let your internet safety guard down to prevent internet security related issues. It is also said by experts that a single careless click can make your data visible to criminals and hackers that can be used for various criminal and bad activities.

5- Use a Secure Internet Connection

Most of the people consider free Wi-Fi a blessing and start using the internet at public places to keep their mobile data MBs safe for later use. But, mostly free internet connections are unsecured and can cause leakage of your personal data and information stored on your mobile devices. That’s why, always make sure that the internet connection you are using is safe and secure as well. Hackers can easily attack devices connected to the free and unsecure internet connections to steal data and information of individuals for criminal activities so always tell your kids to use a secure and safe internet connection whenever they need. However, always use such connections when you are in an urgent need.
